I went to The Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) today.

I rarely go to Arts/Music places. I even forgot when was the last time I went to places like this, or should I say, have I ever been to places like this before? Thank you Miss Summer for introducing this place to me.

Here is a brief introduction from the JCCAC official website describing what it is:

The Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) is an innovative creative arts centre converted from a decommissioned industrial building in Shek Kip Mei. The Centre delicates to develop a harmonious artistic atmosphere for the resident artists and the public for ideas exchange and art sharing. It becomes one of the hottest-spot in the region for art lovers to sample the fruit of over 120 talented resident artists and creative professionals.

I was checking out their website a couple of days ago and discovered that it is their 1st anniversary and they are hosting Open Days today and tomorrow, and so that's why I went today.

It was my first time to visit this place. I took the MTR to Shek Kip Mei. I went out to the right exit but then went to the opposite direction, so had to get back to the MTR station and started again. These are pictures that I took during the time I was looking for the right direction:

5-10 minutes walk from MTR station and here we are:

Went to a workshop about print making. I saw people taking pictures so I took some as well:

After visiting the JCCAC, I walked around Shek Kip Mei:

It was really interesting too see all the stuff. There were exhibitions, workshops and performances, there were also guided tours to show visitors around. I would love to take pictures of the work by different artists, and although there was no signs saying that no photograph allowed, I did not dare to ask whether I can take pictures of their work. I was fascinated to see so many different artists doing so many different things such as all sorts of paintings, there were photography of all different kinds, there were glass making, drama, singing...the list could go on and go. One day, I wish I can have a little area/shop here to show my stuff.

Tuesday 13 October 2009

I worked in Chinese University today for the whole day.
Woke up at the usual time, 8:00am, toke a taxi to Chinese Univeristy, had my breakfast in one of the canteens, and started working from 9:30am. My work today involved a lot of waiting, I mean, A LOT, and these waiting are inescapable! So I brought my Paris travel book with me. I finished working in the lab at 7:30pm, and I have completely finished all the chapters on going to different places in Paris for sightseeing. I roughly know where I will go and visit. The 1st priority of my must-see list is gardens/parks in Paris; I love the greens, the quietness, and peaceful feeling. Then I would love to see all the grand architecture. I would also love to walk around the little streets in Paris, to capture those quiet Paris streets at dusk.

At the end of the day I am tired. I am tired because of reading too much, not because of working

Monday 12 October 2009

I have received an e-mail from Mother's Choice about Volunteer Tutors Recruitment; to encourage the mothers to get back to work/study. I made a phone call and told them that I will be available in the weekends. The lady on the phone asked me what subjects I can tutor, I said "English, some Chinese and some Maths". She said she will call me when they need my help.
That was it.
I hope I can help. I was hoping to look after the babies/toddlers but helping these mothers will be ok as well.

Sunday 11 October 2009

I did not get enough sleep from last night, but had to wake up early at 9:30am for Thai Boxing lesson. So I was actually still quite sleepy/tired during the lesson. I was not punching/kicking as much as I used to.

Went to get my boots after the lesson. I was looking for a pair of boots that will go with my new Autumn looks, so they can actually go with my skinny jeans and leggings. They have to be black, lace-up, kind of cool look. After detail searching through the shopping malls I found 2 that I liked. One of the boots is more elegant which I like as well, but this style can be found in many places, so I am not that desperate to get that pair. The other one of them were from I.T., a shopping place where they sell Japanese brands. This pair of boots is exactly what I want; cool, black, lace-up. The size fits my feet, and comfortable, and so I said the saleman that I want this pair. He said this is the last pair. WHAT!!!! The last pair???!!! I don't want the display pair which has been touched and tried by so many people!! So I asked the guy whether they keep stock at any other places. Luckily there is still a pair in Tsim Sha Tsui. So I quickly took the MTR to get to Tsim Sha Tsui I.T.. When I was in the shop asking for the pair of boots I ordered they took ages to look for them. They had to make phone calls and they even asked me to show them what my boots look like. I was like "alright". But very worried. That guy from Casueway Bay did tell me to come here to get my boots. I have travelled all the way to here and you are telling me that you don't have my boots???!!! Luckily, they finally found my boots:

oh I bought a new bag too, a simple black one, which I think will go very well with my new Autumn style:
