Job interview today. I was excited about it, and at the same time, slightly worried about it. I was excited because this was the third reply from the 21 application e-mails I sent out; at last, someone wanted to interview me. I was slightly worried about it because I had always been nervous in an interview, I was never good at answering questions.
The company that I had interview was situated in Central, Hong Kong. I arrived half an hour early so went to take a look at the exact location of the company. It was 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment and I went up to the place so to let people know I am punture. I told the receptionist that I came here for an interview for the post Laboratory Assistant. I had to fill in a simple form about my personal details. Then I was told to wait in the reception area. I did not wear a watch and I did not check the time on my mobile phone, but I knew it had gone past many minutes, perhaps 30 minutes, when I was finally called for an interview. It was a lady who interviewed me. She asked me many questions, questions that I hated, such as "convince me why I have to hire you?", "how different would you think it is to work in a medical lab compared with a research lab?", "what do you do when you made a mistake?"... I hated these questions. I hated these business-like questions!! After numerous questions, she said what I said was very sensible and that I was in the right path. She would like to give me a try on the job but she needed to ask another person's opinion first. So she went out for a while. Then she bought a man with her to the interview room and he had a chat with me. The conversation that I had with this man was less formal, it was really a chat. He said he would like me to start on the Saturdays first and see how it goes before letting me to do Sundays as well. He then asked the lady who interviewed me earlier into the room and told me that they were organising a training for another new colleague on the coming Monday or Tuesday evening, and they would like me to join so to get a feel about the job nature. And so, I got the job straight away on the interview. What a relieve. It was 13:10pm when I finished the interview. Went back to my research lab at 2pm, had lunch, and spent 5 hours working alone. So exhausting today; the interview was exhausting, the 5-hour lab work was tedious. I slept with a headache last night and woke up in pain, and I did not get enough sleep last night.

I received a phone call from one of the laboratories asking me for an interview tomorrow, Friday. I said I have to work on Friday, I can only come for an interview on Saturday and/or Sunday. The lady on the phone said she will call back later. A while later the lady did call back. In fact, she called twice. The first one I missed her call because I was not with my phone. The second it rang and I picked up the phone, and she asked if 11:45am on this Saturday will be ok for me. I quickly said YES. YES, I got an interview!!!! I got an interview!!!

more OT (over time) in the lab.
Received phone call from Mother's Choice asking to be their photographer on their event on this Sunday. They will be going to Golden Coast and play on the beach with the sand. But I was worrying about the weather is going to be bad because a strong typhoon is coming towards Hong Kong within these few days.
